Close to 30,000 Canadian men and women participated in the UN efforts in the Korean War. From the first wave of Canadian casualties on February 22, 1951, to the Battle of Hill 187, to the last regiment stationed in the DMZ, the Korean War was the first time in modern history that an international assembly of nations voted to push back an aggressor.
The Korean War feature of the Digital Archive provides an unprecedented opportunity to experience the Korean War up close and personal from the eyes of individual Canadians, who experienced loss, triumph and camaraderie in Korea first-hand.
