I retired after 33 and a bit years as a Marine Engineer (Stoker) starting my career on the old steamers and finishing off as Fleet Chief Engineer in MARLANT. I have always had a love of history and even though retired, continue to do briefs and tours with new sailors to the Navy as part of their initial Environmental Training. On retirement, I started volunteering as HMCS Sackville's (Canada's National Naval Memorial) Chief Engineer and continue to augment this with stints as tour guide and researcher. I am currently putting together what is now rough entries with the loose title "This Day in History" which chronicles daily events of Canadians in World War II. Not sure if I will ever publish but variations of it or on several websites and forums freely granted. I have also done presentations at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic on Sackville, the Battle of the Atlantic and Canada's renewed venture into the Arctic and the Navy's new Arctic Offshore Patrol Vessels.

The Memory Project includes a community of over 1,500 veterans and Canadian Forces members who are committed to sharing their stories of service.
