MWO (retd) Berkley Lawrence was a Member of the Canadian Armed Forces (Royal Canadian Corps of Signals) for 33 years. Completed a four year posting to Lahr, West Germany (during the cold war), completed a 6 month NATO tour at Stabilization Force Headquarters in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Was a Drill/recruit instructor at Canadian Forces Recruit School. Since retiring have served in the Royal Canadian Legion for the past 14 years and is currently the President of Newfoundland and Labrador Command. MWO (retd) Lawrence has spoken at many schools assemblies and public gatherings about Remembrance. He is the Grandson of a WW1 veteran, the son of a WW2 veteran, and is married to a retired servicewoman (she served for 25 years), the brother of a 36 year serviceman and his son is currently serving in the Canadian Army.
