I joined the Canadian Armed Forces in Oct 1979 at age 16, with an Infantry Primary Reserve unit, The Fusiliers of St-Lawrence in Rimouski, QC.

I remained in the reserve for 5 years during which time, I qualified on a multitude of courses and formations, one of them being Military Parachutist.

In May 1985, coming back from a major exercise in Norway, I transferred with the Regular Force and was posted to the Canadian Airborne Regiment as a paratrooper in Petawawa, ON.

In Jan 1992, I change trade and requalified in administration but remained in Petawawa until summer 1994. While I was in Petawawa, I successfully completed the Special Service Forces IRONMAN competition in ’92 and ’93.

In summer 1994, I was posted to Valcartier, QC and remained in the Quebec area until 2005. During these 11 years, I worked with different units, doing administration duties but also, recruiting. In summer 1996, I deployed in Bosnia Herzegovina for NATO and then UN. In fall 1999, following a referendum in East Timor, I was deployed under the Article 7 of the United Nations – Peacemaking, with 19 other countries.

From 2005 to 2008, I worked in the Minister of National defence office and the National Defence Command Centre. In 2008, I transferred with the Primary reserve and was involved with operation and training planning until end of 2015.

I recently came back to Ottawa, to work with the Military Personal Command Headquarters as an Operation and Training Warrant Officer.

My spouse and I have been together for over 20 years. I have three children, two boys with her, a daughter 29, two boys 15 and 17, a Spanish Cat and a Mountain Burmese Theo.

I love reading, fishing, training and woodworking.
