I have almost 30 years of federal service in both Canadian military and policing environments. I started as a Royal Military College graduate in 1995 and then was employed an infantry officer with the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. I later joined the RCMP in 1997, and over the course of a twenty year career, have gained experience in general duty police service, tactical operations, close protection, and both computer and fraud investigations. I have experience in major domestic operations such as G8/G20, and I am currently the senior critical incident commander for Nova Scotia. I have the honour of having served a year in Afghanistan as a police advisor deployed within Kandahar City and in the forward operating bases(2007/2008). While in Afghanistan, I was attached to the RCR and R22R Battlegroups as well as various US Army units during combat operations. I am currently the Training and Staffing officer (Inspector) for the RCMP in Nova Scotia, and prior to that, was the Police Operations Officer for North East Nova Scotia. Whilst maintaining a very busy RCMP career and balancing family life, I am also an active infantry officer with the Canadian Forces Infantry Reserves and currently hold the rank of Major. I am comfortable with speaking on any topics regarding national and international service, as well as on subjects within the military or police environments.

The Memory Project includes a community of over 1,500 veterans and Canadian Forces members who are committed to sharing their stories of service.
