MWO (ret) Reg Russell started in Army cadets in 1963 then joined the CAF in 1969 as a Weapons Underwater technician. Served on HMCS Saskatchewan and commissioned HMCS Algonquin in 1973. Did trade transfer to Aircraft Electrician in 1975 and served at Shearwater and HMCS Athabaskan as HelAirDet 1978 to 1980. Posted to CFB Borden as instructor 1980 to 1985 and went overseas with the first CF 18s to CFB Baden West Germany until 1989. Returned to Canada and CFB Cold Lake until 1994. While in Cold Lake was with 410 TFTS and 10FTTS as instructor supervisor. Posted to CFB Shearwater to HS 423 as Det Chief and then to 406 as Standards Superintendent. Retired in 1996 as MWO AVN with 26 years and 256 days of service.
