Champion Figure Skater and Hockey Player, joined the Army at 17 in Halifax Nova Scotia. First deployment to Iran (1988) @ 18 years old; Persian Gulf War (1991) where I was the first Canadian to capture a POW since Korea; Rwanda (1994) cleaning up the mess left by the United Nations; Haiti (1996); Zaire (1996); Bosnia (1998); Afghanistan (2002) with NATO Special Forces; and Italy (2005-2008) in support of anti-piracy/human trafficking and NATO Deployed Operations in Iraq and Kosovo. International duty primarily completed in isolation in small teams of up to 4 people. Multiple military professions retiring at the Rank of Warrant Officer, holding security clearances above Top Secret for Canada and NATO while working in Strategic Operations Centers advising General Staff on National / International level decision making. Extensive research and knowledge on the ‘Business of the Military’ as it pertains to the process of deploying Canadian Forces on Active Service as an Act of Parliament. Full circle on Brain Injury, having been one of the few Canadians to witness the affects of Genocide on the living and the dead. I take pride in my ability to communicate effectively at all levels and hold intelligent discussion on a variety of subjects, both professional and personal.
