I am a professional historian, who also served 11 years as an officer in the RCN. I can speak of my personal experience participating in the latest search for the wreck of HMCS SHAWINIGAN, lost to enemy action with all hands off Newfoundland in 1944. I can also speak about my participation in battle field archeaology at sites at the Battle of the Somme. My work involves serving as historical consultant to feature films and television documentaries, including the recently released Tom Hanks film 'Greyhound' for which I was the Naval Consultant This film dealt with the Battle of the Atlantic... I made sure that the RCN's leadership in that struggle is featured.
