Technology, Peacekeeping

I joined the CF in 1989 to become a Naval Engineer. I served in multiple classes of ships and several leadership positions in projects ashore. I was a peacekeeper in Bosnia as a Civil-Military Cooperation Officer and Reconstruction Officer. As such, I found myself away from the protection of bases and compounds "outside the wire" almost everyday of my tour. As a result, I would suggest that the time spent in Bosnia represented some of the best - and worst - periods of my life, and I learned some very valuable life lessons from my experiences there.

The Memory Project includes a community of over 1,500 veterans and Canadian Forces members who are committed to sharing their stories of service.
